I believe when making appointment for installment all charges should be discussed. In my case we payed in advance for installment of 2 garage door openers, however at time of installment we had to pay an additional 100.00 for 2 doors as there was no existing garage door openers previously...These are questions that should be asked at initial stage and not surprise customer at installment with additional fees. Wood was the first material used in the manufacturing of garage doors. This type of material is still one of the most desired by homeowners. Individuals will find that garage doors that are constructed from wood can be painted or stained to match their home’s look. However, without regular maintenance, wood is susceptible to rot, decay and insect infestation.
John, the service tech, was able to show up 2 hours ahead of schedule which worked out great. He knew the problem and readily offered a fix to repair the contractor grade spring and roll bar to a heavier duty version. Repair was done in a short period time and I could not be happier with the end result. He was friendly and knowledgeable and cared about getting it done right. Very pleased with the work and warranty.
Ricky appeared promptly at our appointment time, did a thorough safety inspection of our existing garage door opener, and explained the problems he found. Upon deciding to replace the door, he provided a complete and easy to follow set of options and samples from which to make our decision. Placing the order was a simple procedure, and Ricky was very knowledgeable and professional throughout our meeting with him.read more
Spring Issues - Unless it is due to an obstruction of some type, uneven movement of your garage door is likely caused by a problem with the spring mechanism. Roll-up doors generally have one center-mounted torsion spring. The tension on torsion springs is great. Therefore, it is necessary to call a professional for any repairs to this type of spring mechanism to avoid serious injury. Because replacement of these springs or cables in a garage door can take at least two or three hours of labor, costs can average $300 or more.
When my garage door springs had broken and I could no longer raise the door without a herculean effort, I called Precision not only because of their 4.9-star rating, but the volume of ratings that mean a large number of people have used their service. Now having done business with them, I can vouch for their high rating with one of my own. When the technician showed up (Clint), he was very patient in listening to my questions and clearly explaining the answers, then did a great job not only replacing the broken springs, but overhauling the garage door at my request (that's replacing all the moving parts that wear out over time). My garage door opens and closes the smoothest and quietest it ever has since I've owned the house. I will definitely recommend them to anyone that needs garage door service.read more

Adding insulation to a hollow garage door can help heating and cooling costs and reduce noise. However, the most important thing to consider is how much weight you are adding to the door. The springs on a garage door are specific to the size and weight of the door, and adding weight to the door without changing the springs can damage them and wear out gears faster in the electric operator. Also, adding a strut across the door might be necessary to make sure the door doesn’t buckle when in the horizontal position.
One aspect of hiring a garage door professional that differs, however, is emergency service. If you need after-hours or weekend service for a damaged or malfunctioning garage door or opener, be sure to ask your garage door contractor upfront about emergency service call fees, which can cost hundreds more than regular services. Unless it’s absolutely necessary, you may save significant money by scheduling garage door repairs and services during normal business hours.

Though you can do some maintenance to your garage doors on your own, it may be a good idea to schedule routine inspections with a professional. A typical service call will include a manual inspection of the door and opener. Then adjustments can be made including spring tension, chain/belt tension, limits and force adjustments and door lubrication. Fees for this service vary from place to place, but garage door repairs typically cost between $147 and $340.

The company is fantastic! Great customer service, quick and courteous response, knowledgeable repairman, quickly repaired, spent time confirming operability of door and opener and the price was more than reasonable. I recommend them heartily and would not use any other company than theirs for future issues, if any. Plus a 1 year warranty on service performed. they can't be beat as far as I am concerned. Ron K.
